Here is a tutorial on how to create a stand alone Seesmic Web Application using Fluid. This is for Mac OS systems only (We'll have a separate tutorial on creating Seesmic Web Application using Prism).
John and Norm, some people like having a separate app instead of a web app, which is why someone like Chris Brogan, even though he only uses Seesmic Desktop for one twitter applicatoin, prefers SD over Web. We'd like to give the user more options.
Jenson, to sign up for a Seesmic Web App Account, you need to login via Twitter and click sign up to create the account. Let me know if you have problems. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK7I4LqJxEc

And yeah, I always use Seesmic Desktop. If I use the computer with free internet access outside (like Internet Kiosks), normally they won't allow any installation of apps, and most likely it comes without AIR support. Thus, I always have to access Twitter from my phone, either the Twitter.com or the Tweets60, free Symbian app for my nokia N96, as well as the free MobiTweet provided by my telecoms which is the Starhub, in Singapore. We usually call those service provider as telco or telcom.
By the way, I see a new way of launching Seesmic web, pretty cool. Seesmic web is used the same way, but it provides additional features for us, like conversations, mentions, and etc ;-)

Yama, may I know how could I get a Seesmic web account? Do I logged in using this account, or Seesmic video account?Or something else?

Yeah. . . why use this instead of the Seesmic Desktop app??

This looks amazing in an "oooh, shiny" way. Question: Why would someone want to create their own web-app?
Create Your Own Seesmic Web Application and other Seesmic Activities
We've attach instructions and a video tutorial on creating a stand alone application for Seesmic Web using Fluid.
Note: this setup really only works well if you have a Seesmic Web account - so make sure you sign in with one rather than using the "Sign in with Twitter".
* Download and install Fluid from http://www.fluidapp.com
* Create a new Fluid Application with the URL set specifically as http://seesmic.com/app/ (not www).
* Name your application
* Choose the location (normally Applications)
* For the icon: Download the "Green Raccoon" icon from http://seesmic.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54fa7655b88330120a5d42046970b-pi and use this as your icon
* Press Create and choose to launch the application now
* Important Step! In the Fluid App, open the preferences and select "Advanced". You will see an entry in the "Pattern" section for the Seesmic domain.
* Double click it and change it to read exactly: *seesmic.com/*
The first time you use the app you will need to log in via the Seesmic website.
Once you have done this, the Fluid App will remember your credentials and you need to sign in again.
There you have it. Have fun using Seesmic Web as an application.
