You can still do "old school" retweets, by clicking the gear icon and choosing "Quote message".
What is missing, in my opinion, is a way to configure how your "quote" should be formatted.

I also have the same issue since this morning - of the two accounts I use in Seesmic for Windows, one of them is working fine but hte other only show a few of the tweets that should be there. On Seesmic for Air, they both work fine.
